Transition to the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program

In October 2022, the Microsoft Partner Network evolved into the Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program, focusing on cloud-based solutions in six key areas: Business Applications, Data & AI (Azure), Digital App & Innovation (Azure), Infrastructure (Azure), Modern Work, and Security.

This program offers extensive tools, resources, and opportunities, enabling partners to adapt to changing customer needs, innovate in any cloud situation, and successfully cater to global industries and markets.

Microsoft Partner Solution Path Updates

The path to achieving Solution Partner Designations has been updated since October 2022.

While certain certifications are being retired, they will contribute to your Partner Capability Score (PCS) for a year post-retirement or until they expire.

Notably, changes have been made in five of the six solution areas, which partners must stay informed about to maintain their status.

Key Designation Updates and Requirements

  • Security: New prerequisite certifications are required. The SC-200 certification is now only a prerequisite, and the MS-500 retired but will count towards prerequisites until June 30, 2024. The SC-100 is now a scoring certification.
  • Business Applications: Certain Dynamics 365 and Power Platform App Maker Associate certifications have retired, with changes in point eligibility now available.
  • Digital & App Innovation (Azure): The Azure IoT Developer Specialty certification has retired.
  • Infrastructure (Azure): The Azure Stack Hub Operator Associate certification has retired.
  • Modern Work: Microsoft Viva is now an eligible workload, with new eligible certifications and upcoming changes to certification names.

  • The Microsoft AI Cloud Partner Program integrates the complete partner lifecycle, including onboarding, training, marketing, incentives, and collaborative selling. This includes exciting AI-specific benefits.
  • The Co-Sell Program, announced at Microsoft Inspire 2023, streamlines partner solutions and services integration.
  • The ISV Success Initiative, launched in July 2023, offers significant technical and sales benefits, including free cloud sandboxes and software licenses.

Strategic Engagement in Microsoft Partner Events for Enhanced Business Outcomes

The resurgence of in-person technology conferences presents a pivotal opportunity for Microsoft Partners to actively engage with their target market and foster meaningful and beneficial relationships.

To make the most of this shift, Microsoft Partners must adopt a strategic approach in selecting events that align closely with their target audience’s interests and needs. Premier events like Microsoft Inspire and Microsoft Ignite are crucial for staying abreast of innovative strategies and advancements, propelling your business to new heights.

Moreover, delving into regional industry events can provide a more tailored and intimate setting for connecting with potential clients and understanding their specific challenges and aspirations. Such targeted engagements enhance brand visibility and pave the way for establishing trust and credibility through personal interactions.

However, more than simply attending these events is required. Microsoft Partners should implement comprehensive marketing and sales tactics to capitalize on these opportunities. This includes sophisticated lead ranking systems to prioritize prospects, assigning dedicated business development representatives to nurture relationships with event attendees, and crafting engaging drip campaigns that consistently educate and inform.

By investing time in these relationships and guiding potential clients through the sales funnel with personalized attention and relevant information, Microsoft Partners can transform event participation into a powerful source of lead generation and business growth.

In essence, 2024 is a golden period for Microsoft Partners to reinvent their approach to industry events. By choosing relevant events, establishing a strong presence, and employing focused follow-up strategies, partners can turn these gatherings into a springboard for sustained business success and growth.

Establishing Your Leadership as a Microsoft Partner Through Strategic Content Creation

Embracing your role as a Microsoft Partner transcends beyond simply holding certifications; it’s about consistently showcasing your expertise and thought leadership to your audience.

Your partnership with Microsoft isn’t just a badge—it’s a testament to your deep-rooted expertise and commitment to excellence in your field. However, in a landscape brimming with competition, it is imperative that you continually validate your authority and knowledge.

A cost-effective and powerful approach to solidifying your standing as a leader is to create and disseminate impactful, unique content. This isn’t just about producing generic information; it’s about crafting narratives that resonate deeply with your organization’s unique qualities, your clients’ needs, and the distinct services you offer.

Whether you share success stories that highlight your achievements, draft insightful whitepapers rooted in research, or compile eBooks in collaboration with industry experts, the variety of formats available for content creation allows you to engage with your audience in a meaningful and memorable way.

Content marketing is often an undervalued asset for Microsoft Partners. By weaving a compelling story around your company’s mission, vision, and the tangible success stories that define your journey, you reinforce your relevance and cut through the noise of an oversaturated market.

This strategy isn’t just about promoting what you do; it’s about establishing why it matters and how your unique partnership with Microsoft elevates your offerings, providing unparalleled value to your clients. Your content becomes a beacon, highlighting your expertise and positioning you as a provider, leader, and innovator in your field.
