Plenty of agencies promise MSP leads. The useful question is what they call a lead.
An ebook download is not the same as a meeting with the decision-maker at a 100-seat business that is replacing its provider. Yet both can appear as a lead in an agency report. MSPs also sell a recurring service that businesses are reluctant to switch, so the route from first contact to signed agreement is rarely quick.
We compared 10 agencies with a live MSP lead-generation service. The list separates inbound marketing from outbound prospecting and appointment setting. They solve different problems and should not be measured in the same way.
The short list
Agency | Lead-generation model | MSP focus | Best suited to | Public pricing |
Inbound, paid media and outbound | Strong | MSPs wanting one partner across positioning, traffic, conversion and outreach | No
Full funnel and appointment setting | Strong | Established MSPs wanting marketing, lead gen and sales enablement together | No
Inbound and omnichannel demand generation | Strong | North American MSPs investing heavily in search-led growth | No
Cold calling and appointment setting | Exclusive | MSPs that already have positioning and sales follow-up but need outbound conversations | No
Inbound and outbound | Exclusive | North American MSPs wanting SEO, ads, email and LinkedIn in one programme | No
Full-funnel marketing and virtual SDR | Strong | UK or US MSPs needing marketing plus sales development | No
Inbound, local SEO and Google Ads | Exclusive | Smaller MSPs building a local inbound engine | Partial
Webinar-led demand generation | Exclusive | MSPs willing to sell through educational events | No
Outsourced outbound and appointment setting | Sector team | US MSPs wanting a scaled generalist outbound operation | Yes
Content, automation, websites and campaigns | Exclusive | MSPs using ConnectWise or wanting a marketing platform and content system | Partial |
There is no useful overall winner. Choose according to the gap in your pipeline: visibility, conversion, outbound meetings or sales follow-up.
Why MSP lead generation fails
Many programmes produce plenty of activity and little pipeline. The usual problem is an undemanding definition of a lead.
The agency counts every form completion. The MSP only wants decision-makers from businesses of 20 to 200 employees, inside its service area, with a relevant need. Unless that definition is agreed before work starts, reporting becomes an argument rather than a management tool.
Four problems appear repeatedly:
The market is local. Many MSPs can only serve a defined geography. National traffic is worthless when the delivery model is regional.
Timing is unpredictable. Businesses rarely replace an MSP on a convenient campaign schedule. A good system captures current demand and nurtures future demand.
Trust comes before contact. Prospects often inspect the website, reviews, case studies, leadership and security capability before agreeing to a meeting.
Sales follow-up is part of performance. Slow responses, weak discovery calls and inconsistent nurturing can ruin good marketing. An agency should not carry all the blame, but it should expose the leak.
How we assessed the agencies
The agencies were selected using five gates:
A live service offering for MSP lead generation, appointment setting or a clearly related MSP demand-generation programme.
Clear evidence of MSP or IT-channel specialisation.
A service that creates, captures or qualifies demand—not merely generic content production.
Publicly identifiable capabilities and a functioning company website as of August 2026.
A model that is meaningfully distinct or competitive within the comparison.
The order is editorial, not a league table. We looked at the service model, MSP experience, likely fit, limitations and quality of public evidence. Results quoted on agency websites are leads for your due diligence, not independent proof.
MSP Lead Gen Agency #1. Opollo
Best for integrated inbound and outbound lead generation
Opollo is an MSP and IT marketing agency operating across the United States and Australia. Its model covers the full path from positioning and website conversion to SEO, paid advertising, email, visitor identification and sales outreach.
Opollo is most relevant when the problem crosses several parts of the funnel. More traffic will not rescue a generic website, and more outbound will not rescue an offer that sounds like every other MSP. The agency can work on the offer, message, acquisition channels and conversion path together.
The website reports $145 million in sales pipeline and publishes named case studies covering lead growth and ROI. Ask how pipeline was attributed, what was eventually closed and which examples resemble your MSP.
Services: positioning, websites, SEO, AEO, paid ads, email marketing, visitor lead generation and outreach
Geography: United States and Australia
Good fit: growth-stage MSPs wanting a coordinated acquisition system
Potential limitation: broader engagements demand more input and investment than a single-channel vendor
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #2. Marketopia
Best for established MSPs wanting marketing and sales support together
Marketopia serves MSPs and technology companies with marketing, lead generation, appointment setting, sales enablement and channel-growth services. Its appointment-setting model includes dedicated resources, multi-channel outreach and CRM integration.
Marketopia suits an established MSP that wants appointments and help with the sales operation around them. A smaller provider testing one channel may not need the breadth, and pricing is not public.
Marketopia says appointment volumes can begin increasing within 30 to 60 days. Ask what qualifies, whether the prospect must attend and whether the same lead can be supplied elsewhere.
Services: inbound marketing, lead generation, appointment setting, sales enablement and channel programmes
Geography: primarily United States and United Kingdom
Good fit: established MSPs seeking scale and operational support across marketing and sales
Potential limitation: the scope may be excessive for an early-stage MSP testing one channel
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #3. Jumpfactor
Best for search-led inbound growth in North America
Jumpfactor is a North American agency focused heavily on inbound MSP lead generation. Its published model combines SEO, email nurturing, paid advertising, retargeting, gated content, video and third-party visibility.
Jumpfactor publishes more evidence than most agencies on this list. Its lead-generation page includes named clients and connects work to lead volume, recurring revenue and closed revenue. It also reports more than 36,000 qualified MSP buyer leads. The figures are self-published, but named examples can be checked during a reference call.
It is aimed at MSPs with enough contract value and sales capacity to justify a substantial inbound programme. Look elsewhere if the immediate need is a cold-calling team.
Services: SEO, paid media, content, email nurture, reputation, video and conversion
Geography: North America
Good fit: established MSPs pursuing high-volume inbound demand
Potential limitation: inbound authority compounds over time; it is not an instant substitute for outbound prospecting
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #4. Managed Sales Pros
Best for MSP-specific cold calling and appointment setting
Managed Sales Pros is unusually focused: it works only with the MSP channel and specialises in managed outbound cold-call prospecting and appointment setting. Its public offer includes trained callers, a proprietary prospecting process and optional sales-management support.
Consider it when you know your ideal customer, have an offer that works and can close, but cannot sustain prospecting. Its MSP-only focus means callers should not be learning the industry at your expense.
It will not fix weak positioning, a poor website or slow follow-up. The company states that pricing is monthly with an initial 120-day commitment, but does not publish the amount.
Services: cold calling, appointment setting, pipeline development and fractional sales leadership
Geography: United States and Canada
Good fit: MSPs with a working sales process that need more qualified conversations
Potential limitation: a call-led programme cannot repair the wider brand and inbound funnel by itself
Pricing: monthly, custom; 120-day initial commitment stated publicly
MSP Lead Gen Agency #5. Tech Pro Marketing
Best for a balanced MSP-specific inbound and outbound programme
Tech Pro Marketing says it works exclusively with managed service providers and offers one of the broadest MSP lead-generation service sets in this comparison. Its public model combines Google Ads, SEO, content, LinkedIn, cold email, referral systems, nurturing and pipeline reporting.
Its model covers active search demand, direct outreach and website conversion rather than relying on one channel.
The company says it works with more than 100 North American MSPs and publishes client testimonials. It also gives indicative lead costs and ROI timeframes. Those numbers will move sharply by market and by the definition of a qualified lead.
Services: SEO, Google Ads, LinkedIn, cold email, websites, content and lead nurturing
Geography: North America
Good fit: small and mid-sized MSPs wanting inbound and outbound managed together
Potential limitation: the large menu makes scope discipline important; confirm exactly which channels are included
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #6. Wingman Marketing
Best for MSPs needing a virtual marketing and sales-development team
Wingman is dedicated to the IT channel and operates from the United Kingdom and United States. It describes a full-funnel model that moves from audience research and positioning through content, SEO, paid media, intent identification, campaigns, virtual SDR activity and sales support.
Wingman can replace more of an internal marketing function than a narrow lead supplier. It also covers the hand-off to sales, where good leads are often wasted.
The risk is an engagement with many deliverables and no clear owner. Agree channel targets and the definition of an opportunity before approving the plan.
Services: strategy, content, SEO, paid media, intent leads, virtual SDR, events, CRM and sales support
Geography: United Kingdom and United States
Good fit: MSPs wanting an external marketing department with sales-development capability
Potential limitation: likely heavier than necessary for a company seeking only meetings or only SEO
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #7. MSP Launchpad
Best for smaller MSPs building local inbound lead generation
MSP Launchpad focuses exclusively on MSPs and leans toward websites, local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation, Google Ads and content. It offers both do-it-yourself and done-for-you routes, which gives smaller providers a lower-risk entry point than a large integrated retainer.
Its advice is practical: fix the website and Google presence before paying to increase traffic. That order makes sense for local MSPs whose buyers search by city or proximity.
This is primarily an inbound offer. It is not a substitute for a telephone appointment-setting service.
Services: websites, local SEO, Google Ads, content and Google Business Profile optimisation
Geography: international, with a local-market model
Good fit: smaller MSPs building an inbound foundation or wanting a DIY option
Potential limitation: less suited to outsourced cold calling and enterprise sales development
Pricing: some entry pricing is public; done-for-you pricing requires enquiry
MSP Lead Gen Agency #8. IT Rockstars
Best for webinar-led MSP lead generation
IT Rockstars has shifted toward a focused proposition: it runs recurring webinars, drives attendance and books warm sales conversations for MSPs. Rather than attempting to win buyers with a direct pitch, the model uses education to create trust and reveal interest.
It depends on credible presenters and determined follow-up. A webinar can also supply useful video, email and sales material, but registrations are not pipeline. Measure attendance from target accounts, meetings held, opportunities and closed recurring revenue.
Services: webinar production, promotion, registration and appointment generation
Geography: primarily English-speaking markets
Good fit: subject-matter experts willing to use education as the route into sales conversations
Potential limitation: results depend on speaker quality, offer relevance and disciplined post-event follow-up
Pricing: proposal based
MSP Lead Gen Agency #9. Abstrakt Marketing Group
Best for scaled US outbound with transparent package pricing
Abstrakt is a large B2B lead-generation company rather than an MSP-exclusive agency, but it maintains an IT/MSP industry practice. Services include cold calling, cold email, LinkedIn outreach, qualification, nurturing and outsourced SDR support.
Abstrakt is one of the few firms here with clear public pricing. In August 2026, appointment-setting packages run from $5,250 per month for a target of at least four appointments to $9,250 for at least 12. The company notes that results vary by industry and market.
MSP is only one of its industries. Check the assigned team’s MSP experience, territory protection and how much the messaging is actually customised.
Services: cold calling, email, LinkedIn, lead qualification, nurturing and outsourced SDR
Geography: United States
Good fit: MSPs wanting an established outbound operation and clear package benchmarks
Potential limitation: MSP is one vertical among many, not the company’s sole focus
Pricing: publicly listed from $5,250 to $9,250 per month as of August 2026
MSP Lead Gen Agency #10. JoomConnect
Best for MSP marketing automation and ConnectWise integration
JoomConnect is dedicated to MSP and IT marketing. Its offering combines websites, content, email, direct mail, lead lists, campaigns and a marketing automation platform that integrates with ConnectWise and other PSA tools.
JoomConnect is closer to a marketing system than a booked-meeting service. It can keep content and nurturing moving and connect activity with software the MSP already uses.
Clarify what JoomConnect executes, what the platform automates and what your team must still do. A large content library does not distribute itself.
Services: marketing automation, websites, content, email, direct mail, lead lists and campaigns
Geography: primarily North America
Good fit: MSPs seeking an integrated marketing platform, especially in the ConnectWise ecosystem
Potential limitation: not positioned as a dedicated cold-call appointment-setting team
Pricing: varies by product and service

What should MSP lead generation cost?
Most firms hide their pricing, and similar-looking retainers often buy very different amounts of work.
These are buying bands, not market averages:
Under $2,000 per month: usually software, content libraries, coaching or a narrow do-it-yourself programme. Expect your team to execute.
$2,000 to $5,000 per month: typically one or two managed channels, such as local SEO and content, paid media management, or limited outreach. Ad spend and data may be additional.
$5,000 to $10,000 per month: a managed appointment-setting programme or a broader inbound/outbound engagement. Abstrakt’s public packages sit in this band.
Above $10,000 per month: integrated strategy, creative, media, outbound, sales support or multi-market scale. At this level, insist on revenue attribution and clear channel economics.
Cheap leads are often expensive distractions. A $1,500 opportunity from an 80-endpoint business can be better value than ten $100 enquiries that never had a chance of closing.
Seven questions to ask before signing
1. What exactly counts as a qualified lead?
Put the definition in the contract. Include geography, company size, role, need, timing and exclusions. If booked meetings are the output, define whether the prospect must attend.
2. Are leads and appointments exclusive?
Shared leads create a race and erode trust. Ask whether the same company or contact can be supplied to another MSP in your market.
3. Which results came from MSP clients like us?
Ask for examples with a similar service area, average contract value, target industry and starting position. A national MSP and a five-person local provider are not useful comparators.
4. Can you show revenue, not only traffic or meetings?
Request held meetings, sales-qualified opportunities, pipeline value, new monthly recurring revenue and closed revenue. Then ask how each figure was attributed.
5. Who owns the assets and data?
You should know who owns domains, landing pages, advertising accounts, analytics, contact data, content and CRM history if the relationship ends.
6. How are territories and competitors handled?
An agency can create a conflict by representing several MSPs chasing the same accounts in the same city. Ask for the policy in writing.
7. What must our team do?
Good lead generation still needs subject-matter input, prompt lead response, credible discovery calls and consistent CRM updates. Beware any provider promising results while needing nothing from you.
Metrics that expose whether the programme works
One blended cost-per-lead number hides too much. Track the whole funnel:
- Target accounts reached
- Engaged contacts or high-intent visitors
- Marketing-qualified leads
- Meetings booked
- Meetings held
- Sales-qualified opportunities
- Proposals issued
- New monthly recurring revenue
- Gross profit and payback period
For outbound, track positive replies, conversations, meeting attendance and opportunities. For inbound, track qualified organic enquiries, landing-page conversion, call quality and assisted conversions. Volume is secondary. The aim is profitable recurring revenue from customers worth keeping.
Frequently asked questions
What is an MSP lead generation agency?
An MSP lead generation agency helps managed service providers attract or approach potential customers, qualify interest and create sales opportunities. Services may include SEO, paid search, content, email, LinkedIn outreach, cold calling, webinars, conversion optimisation and appointment setting.
Should an MSP choose inbound or outbound lead generation?
Use outbound when you have a precise target market, a strong offer and enough sales capacity to follow up quickly. Use inbound when buyers actively search for your services and you want a compounding source of demand. Established MSPs often need both, but each channel should retain separate targets and reporting.
How long does MSP lead generation take?
Outbound can begin producing conversations within weeks, although quality improves as targeting and messaging are refined. Paid search can also generate early enquiries. SEO and authority-building commonly require several months. Closed revenue takes longer because MSP buying cycles and incumbent contracts do not obey campaign calendars.
Are guaranteed MSP leads credible?
A guarantee is only as valuable as its definition. Check whether the agency guarantees contact records, form fills, booked meetings, held meetings or qualified opportunities. Inspect the exclusions, replacement policy, geographic rules and minimum commitment.
What is a good cost per lead for an MSP?
There is no useful universal benchmark. Work backwards from gross profit, expected customer lifetime value and close rate. Compare cost per held meeting and qualified opportunity, not raw form fills.
Can an agency guarantee new MSP clients?
An agency can control targeting, campaigns and qualification. It cannot control your discovery calls, pricing, reputation, proposals or follow-up. Treat guaranteed new clients with suspicion unless the provider owns the sales process and the small print is unusually clear.
The verdict
Choose the agency that fits the bottleneck, not the one with the loudest lead guarantee.
For MSP-exclusive outbound calling, start with Managed Sales Pros.
For large-scale inbound authority in North America, examine Jumpfactor.
For integrated marketing and sales support, compare Opollo, Marketopia and Wingman.
For a smaller local inbound programme, consider MSP Launchpad.
For transparent, scaled outbound packages, review Abstrakt.
For webinar-led conversations, look at IT Rockstars.
For platform-led marketing automation, assess JoomConnect.
Give every finalist the same brief and lead definition. Ask for a forecast of held meetings, qualified opportunities and payback. Impressions and clicks can stay in the appendix.
